Career Progression Chart (Medical)
The Career Progression uses academic age to illustrate the average trend in research activity across the entire taxonomy (blue bars). The progression plots user's faculty within a taxonomy as dots over the progression graph. The Y-axis represents a Z-Score when a variable is selected; by default, the Scholarly Research Index is shown. The X-axis represents years since terminal degree. Use the drop-down menu in the upper left to switch between selections. In addition to Scholarly Research Index, you can view progression by articles, awards, books, citations, conference proceedings, grants and grants dollar amounts.
Placing your cursor over a dot representing an individual will reveal that person’s name, years since terminal degree and the individual's overall Scholarly Research Index or Z-Score for the variable under consideration.
Faculty types are represented by different shapes in the visual, allowing users to quickly distinguish clinical faculty from regular/research faculty.
